WEDDING COLLECTIONS FAQ
What’s the difference between a bridal and trash the dress session?
While both last approximately the same amount of time, a bridal session is more formal than a trash the dress session. Shot in both studio and on location, bridal sessions are like fashion shoots, starring you and your new husband, at your absolute best. Trash the dress sessions are the exact opposite – wild & crazy! Depending on what and where you’d like to shoot your ttd session, your gown may end up wet, muddy and most definitely dirty!
Can you tell me more about the signature guest book?
Absolutely – you’re gonna love it! This book is way better than your traditional, ‘sign-your-name-only-here-please’ book. This awesomely fun (yes, I went there) interactive guest book couples images from your engagement session with handwritten notes, advice and wishes from your family and friends. You’ll have a blast reading it after the honeymoon and years down the road.
What is an album spread?
Think of an open book. You’re looking at two pages, one on the right and left. That is ‘one’ spread. All album spreads are custom designed, just for you.
OMG! I totally forgot to order my photos! Can you re-upload them for me?
All portrait sessions come with a free, one month online gallery to share with family and friends. We will happily re-upload any images from your portrait sessions for you, but fees will apply. Additional gallery time is in one month increments only.
WEDDINGS – FAQ
What is your style of photography?
Dorothy’s style is a combination of both photojournalistic and posed portraits. She prefers to work without a list of photos to shoot, but also understands that some posed photographs cannot be completely tossed aside. Dorothy does what she does best when you’re able to set aside time (an hour or more!) for her to photograph just the two of you alone, without everyone looking on.
Are you the only photographer?
Dorothy is the sole photographer behind Dorothy Snyder Photography.
Do you have an assistant?
Yes, Dorothy does work with an assistant and/or second shooter for most weddings. Second shooters may photograph coverage of your wedding day and provide assistance to Dorothy as needed.
Do you take posed family photos?
You betcha! Posed family portraits have been around as long as… well, photography itself! They are of historical significance – images of your family during a very important event.
Can we give you a list of photographs we’d like you to take?
If there is something very specific that you would like photographed, then absolutely. Otherwise, lists are often counter-productive to the way Dorothy prefers to shoot and she generally will capture those images anyway.
How long until we get our images?
The day after the ceremony, a “sneak peek” will be posted on the blog. The entire gallery will be online approximately a week after the wedding (yes, you read that correctly!)
Can we change our wedding collection to better suit our needs? Can we customize our own wedding collection?
Absolutely! Nothing is more important to Dorothy than making sure you have the wedding of your dreams. If you need more or less coverage, we will be happy to provide you with a custom quote specific to your needs. Simply contact us for details.
Will you be at the rehearsal?
Possibly. Dorothy may choose to attend your rehearsal (not the dinner, although coverage is available) if she feels the need to do so. If you’re doing something ‘out of the norm’ for your wedding, then the answer is definitely! Please disclose any such details prior to the wedding day so that Dorothy can plan accordingly.
Do we have to provide you (and your assistant) dinner at the reception?
It’s not mandatory, but it would be really wonderful of you if you did. We prefer to eat when you eat so that we can continue photographic coverage as soon as you’re done.
How do you design our album?
Once the style of book is chosen, Dorothy will produce a first draft design for you to preview. You are allowed two rounds of changes before additional fees are assessed. Upon approval of the final design, the album is sent to the printer. Due to the specialized nature of the process, please allow up to six weeks for delivery.
What if we run late or want you to stay longer?
Not a problem! Only with your approval will Dorothy stay longer and provide extra coverage of your event. You will be billed afterwards for the additional hours.
What if you get sick or can’t be at the wedding?
Nothing less than serious illness or hospitalization will keep Dorothy away on your wedding day. Should the unthinkable happen, Dorothy has a list of professional photographers to call upon to provide exceptional photographic coverage for your day.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Dorothy Snyder Photography accepts cash, check, Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit cards and debit cards with a Visa or MasterCard logo. Checks should be made payable to Dorothy Snyder Photography and mailed to: PO Box 1223, Nokomis, Florida 34274.
