How much is a portrait session?
Dorothy offers two types of portrait sessions, Mini and Full. Mini sessions are $100 and Full sessions are $200. Failure to show up for an appointed session will result in a cancellation fee of $50.
What’s the difference between a Mini and Full Session?
Mini sessions are shot on-location only and are at most an hour long. Full sessions are from 1 to 3 hours and may include both on-location and studio photography. Newborn and Senior sessions are considered to be full sessions due to the amount of time naturally required to photograph your child during this important time of their life.
What do we get for our session fee?
The session fee covers the time Dorothy spends photographing & proofing your session and a one month password protected image gallery to share with family and friends for easy viewing and ordering of prints.
OMG! I totally forgot to order my photos! Can you re-upload them for me?
All portrait sessions come with a free, one month online gallery to share with family and friends. We will happily re-upload any images from your portrait sessions for you, but charges will apply. Additional gallery time is in one month increments only.
Where do your sessions take place?
It depends on the type of session! Dorothy is a on-location and studio photographer. Studio photography is done in your home, where children are most comfortable and natural. On-location photography may take place at any Sarasota or Venice area beaches, parks or secret little spot that Dorothy has found.
What if we don’t live in the Sarasota area?
Not a problem! Dorothy does a lot of traveling in the south eastern U.S. and if she’s going to be in your area, no additional travel fees apply. If you’d like Dorothy to travel specifically for your session, please contact her and provide a description of your needs. She will provide you with a custom quote.
How soon after the session are my images available?
This is where Dorothy really stands apart from other photographers – your photographs are proofed and online within days of your session. The morning after, Dorothy posts a “sneak peek” of your photographs and the full gallery is typically online a day or two later. Wedding images are posted online within two weeks after the wedding.
What kind of products do you offer?
We offer everything! From prints to framing, gallery wrapped canvases and albums. Please contact the studio for additional information and we will be happy to provide you with a full menu list of items.
What should we wear? What should my child(ren) wear??
Dorothy strongly recommends that you don’t match. Clothing says a lot about who YOU are and can add so much to your images. Trendy, colorful fabrics are great but take care to avoid “loud” patterns and colors that clash with each other. We recommend that you lay everything out on a bed and look at it – if something stands out in your eye, it will stand out in the photograph. Complimentary colors will look better than everyone wearing matching attire. If your little ones are going shoeless, please remove socks and shoes at least 30 minutes prior so that the marks will not be visible.
